Ireland, with its romantic landscapes, rugged coastlines and friendly people. The ‘green island’ is home to Europe’s largest population of sika deer with the south-west being one of the top areas.
The ‘black devil’ is a deer species that puts hunters to the test but gives a hunting experience like no other. In addition, the abundant woodcock, snipe and wild goats can also be hunted.
Hunting in Ireland means hunting woodcock, snipe, wild goats and sika deer. It’s hard to imagine but roe deer are absent or very rare in Ireland.
But the country makes up for that with a species of deer that puts hunters to the test. It also gives you the chance to visit the friendliest country in the world. You can’t turn down an offer like that, can you?
Sika deer are widespread on ‘the green island’, but four areas have particularly high densities: Wicklow, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Kerry, where the sika population has a pure Japanese bloodline. You will be hunting in the latter area.
You can take the trip to Kerry with confidence, where you will be captivated by the wild Irish nature and hospitable people.
