Driven hunt in Poland

The classic driven hunt is Poland at its best. Short drives that follow each other in quick succession and the forest that seems electrically charged by barking dogs and enthusiastic beaters who push the game towards the hunters.

All these factors make driven hunting a thrilling experience that is indescribable. The hunt begins with the first light and only at nightfall do the hunting horns signal the end of the day. For many, driven hunting is the ultimate in hunting, and Poland is in first place.

Hunting area

The extensive hunting ground in the Kolanowo area has as many as 65 ponds and lakes. This makes it one of the most water-rich hunting grounds with a total area of 14,000 hectares.

Of course, wild boar and roe deer are part of the deal here. Red deer are also counted as resident game. Red deer thrive here so well that at least a third of the tableau will consist of hinds, calves and stags. Four stags up to an antler weight of 5 kg are included in the package.

Hunting season

The beginning of January is an excellent time for a classic Polish driven hunt. Immediately after the New Year, you can leave the hustle and bustle of the holiday season behind you and recharge your batteries. Further, you will often find yourself hunting in a beautiful white setting. These are ideal conditions and hunting wild boar in the snow is the ultimate experience for many.

A professional organisation with Dutch guiding will assist you and your hunting friends during this three-day drive. These people know the area inside out and guiding groups is a piece of cake for them. They know where the game leaves the drive and make sure you are close to these tracks.

Travel details

If you leave at night, you will arrive at the hotel in the afternoon. This leaves enough time before dinner to unpack all your things, prepare the equipment for the next day and take a hot shower.

During dinner, the plan for the next few days will be discussed, along with some words about safety. A hearty breakfast will be ready around 6 in the morning. After all, we make the most of the hunting day, which means that you take your stand early.

After breakfast, we drive together to the hunting area. First the stand numbers are drawn, then the groups are divided and the exciting driven hunt can begin. Six drives are planned each day, with a beautiful tableau at the hunting lodge with fire, horns and old traditions after the hunt.

One of our priorities is to accommodate our guest hunters in single rooms, unless otherwise requested. In this case, the hotel is a 15-minute drive from the hunting ground. All rooms are neatly furnished and equipped with a television and a bathroom with shower and toilet. For us, these are basic facilities that we value highly. Full board is included in all Polish driven hunts.
