Roebuck hunting in Poland has become a classic for many hunters. Often, it means the first acquaintance with this leading hunting nation. This country is one big gift of nature with immense forested areas, uncultivated grasslands and never-ending reed beds.
In the middle of a pine forest, you may suddenly find yourself in front of an open oasis of green. Or vast plains where the game comes out in the evening and male roe deer fight each other during the summer.
These are moments that leave you speechless. Realising that such impressive nature still exists.

Hunting area
280 kilometres from the German town of Görlitz, the extensive hunting ground of 6,792 hectares is located in the province of Opole. Only 640 hectares are forested.
The rest of the area is taken up by meadows, pastures and agricultural land. Several game species thrive here, but roe deer in particular find their ideal habitat.
Typical of the Polish roebuck trophies are the dark antlers with coarse beading. This not only embellishes your trophy room, but also provides a precious lasting memory.
Besides a strong game population, you will find experienced hunting guides, tasty food and a clean accommodation.
Hunting season
Roebuck hunting season traditionally starts on the eleventh of May. The season lasts until 30 September, but the intensive hunting ends in mid-August, immediately after the roe deer rut.
Accompanied by a Polish guide, you hunt along the forest edges and meadows. Stalking in these breathtaking landscapes is one of the main reasons why so many hunters cross Germany to enjoy Polish nature and its wildlife.
In addition, ‘gummipirsch’ is possible, where you drive through the area by car, looking for a good buck. This way you will get to see a lot of the hunting grounds. Also for people who are less fit this is an excellent opportunity to experience this hunt to the full.
This brings us to the main idea of this trip. Hardly anyone goes through this adventure alone and roebuck hunting is definitely an experience that you want to share with one or more friends.
After an exciting morning outing, listening to each other’s stories while enjoying a cup of coffee and fresh bread rolls: these are the beautiful moments that contribute to the memory. That’s what makes hunting so special.
Travel details
You will hunt and sleep as we prefer to do ourselves. For this reason, unless otherwise requested, we will reserve a single room for you as standard, with a private bathroom including shower and toilet.
After arriving at the hotel, you will head out into the field for your first outing the same evening. On your instruction or as long as the light permits, you will go hunting. You will usually arrive back at the hotel the same time as your fellow hunters so that the experiences of the last few hours can be shared.
Have a good time, of course, as this is also part of the joys of hunting. But without exaggerating, because the alarm clock will sound early again. The next hunting day will start with a morning stalk, which usually ends between 8 and 9 a.m.
After putting away your equipment in your room, you can have breakfast together. In the late afternoon, you will be picked up again for the evening outing.
You can use the time between these two outings for sightseeing. However, most hunters use these hours in their rooms or on the terrace to relax. The choice is yours.
The next day, two more outings are planned. On the day of departure, you will first go hunting one last time in the morning. After breakfast and protocol, the journey home begins.

Equipment
In short, you need the same equipment for roebuck hunting in Poland as you use in your own country. All calibres from .243 Winchester to .30-06 Springfield will do just fine here too.
A rifle scope with a standard magnification of 2.5 is a common optical aid. It is important that these rifle scopes also give a clear view at dusk, as this is a favourite time for the game to leave cover.
The same applies to your binoculars. Both 8×42 and 10×42 models are suitable, but it is best to choose light-weight binoculars. After all, this saves weight that you simply do not have to carry when you are stalking.
You should also keep your clothes as light as possible for active hunting. Add a pair of well-worn shoes plus a shooting stick and you are ready to go.
